纪录片《有个学校叫南开》是由中共天津市委宣传部、天津市教育委员会、天津广播电视台、中央电视台纪录频道联合出品的历史人文纪录片。该片通过讲述百年南开系列学校的传奇故事，折射了百年中国和近代天津，以及一代知识分子的时代命运。 本片分为六集，每集50分钟，片长5小时。第一集《寻路》、第二集《私立》、第三集《青春》、第四集《风波》、第五集《南迁》、第六集《归来》。将南开大学的历史娓娓道来，1904年，就在民族生死存亡的危机时刻，早期觉醒的旧知识分子、晚晴翰林严修，和北洋水师学堂毕业的张伯苓，选择了用教育来挽救祖国。他们从一座私人宅邸开始，慢慢建立起了现代教育的中学、大学、女子中学和小学。在抗日战争的烽火硝烟和颠沛流离之中，他们还将教育的血脉延展到祖国的大西南。一个名叫“南开”的系列学校就这样诞生于国难，“南开，难开，越难越开”，她为生存而寻路，为自强而探索，为教育强国矢志不渝。
