政清当街刺杀马炭，被冬来制伏，马炭决定让大同亲自审判，亦希望大家隐瞒沅婉，没料到事件却被艾妞偷听到。艾妞喜见狄奇，向他诉苦并抖出政清刺杀马炭事件，狄奇认为事有蹊跷，竟然叫她进入赌场细龟，还要输个清光！马炭拒为艾妞之欠债负责，押艾妞入监牢。 大同审问政清时，政清突然拔枪，幸大同早有准备而无恙。大同即提出多项疑点怪罪马炭，马炭推说士兵当中有内鬼，还称士兵上司冬来亦有嫌疑，必须收监。沅婉想为政清报仇，欲趁敷药时行刺大同，马炭极力阻止她。马炭说出政清的计划及愿望，并答应沅婉待时机成熟才报仇。 英俊提出可为马炭提供军火，马炭把消息告知大同，大同建议马炭可向细龟筹资金。爱美到监狱探望冬来，二人感情更进一步。狄奇与落芦密谈，计划要将马炭打回原形。马炭拿着钱踏出赌场时被人抢走，顿时慌张失措，认为是细龟所为，找他晦气，细龟矢口否应，返回房间惊见……
