因父母出国公干半年的关系，个性沉稳的初二生凌风与生性活泼的胞弟凌云，被付给了糊涂的舅舅晓松照顾。不料两人来到的第一天，晓松就将接机的事情忘得一干二净，让两兄弟吃尽苦头。新学期的第一天，两兄弟在上学路上结识了同班班长、颇有男孩子性格的马小玲。凌云甚至将马小玲误认为男生，使马小玲十分生气。刚到学校，凌云就为争夺一个花卷，与同学王宏上演了一场追逐战，还把凌风拉了下水。在这场追逐战中，两人凭借超人的运动神经，在各大社团的招新活动中大出风头，成了校园名人。但令人料想不到的是，读书运动样样皆能的两兄弟却在一个叫李越铭的同学的手下初尝败绩，而难倒他们的，居然是在这个城市的孩子中间十分流行的遥控车。在雷速登俱乐部的跑道上，凌风、凌云初次接触遥控车，就尝到了失败的滋味。这时，俱乐部的老板马威出现，极力法说二人加入俱乐部……
